Nevada State Development Corp. will be a participant in the 2010 Business Expo "The Art of Business" hosted by the Las Vegas Chamber of Commerce on Wednesday, June 23, 2010. The Expo will take place from Noon to 5 p.m. at the World Market Center, a spectacular venue for companies to showcase their products and services. NSDC will be one of 150 businesses who will be taking part in this exciting event.

This is the first year the Expo is being held at World Market Center and it is expecting to draw many attendees. Tickets are priced at $10 and are available by contacting the Las Vegas Chamber of Commerce at 702-641-5822. Hope to see you there!

 

Welcome to the world of Commercial Real Estate Women of Las Vegas. CREW-LV, a non-profit organization, is a chapter of CREW Network, which consists of several CREW chapters within the United States and Canada. Now in our seventh year, CREW-LV is committed to encouraging and expanding networking, educational, leadership development and civic/philanthropic involvement opportunities for women in all fields of commercial real estate. During the 1980s, several independent organizations were formed in various cities in which women involved in the many aspects of commercial real estate joined together to exchange information, develop business contacts, and to help each other succeed professionally.

CREW-LV is in its 6th year and growing. Currently going strong with over 50 members, CREW-LV has become a prominent real estate group in Las Vegas. Via its monthly meeting luncheons, networking opportunities, and community service, CREW-LV hopes to continue to grow strong and be a beneficial resource to women in the real estate industry.

“Toastmasters, a non-profit organization, started in 1924 by Ralph C. Smedley in a YMCA basement in Santa Ana, California.  The organization has grown to become a international world leader in helping people become more competent and comfortable in front of an audience. They have approximately 250,000 members in more than 12,500 clubs in 106 countries and each Toastmasters club is made up of 20 to 30 people who meet once a week for about an hour. Each meeting gives everyone an opportunity to practice conducting meetings, giving impromptu speeches, presenting prepared speeches, and offering constructive evaluation.”

 

LAS VEGAS September, 2009 -- Bill Wilson, CCIM, Assistant Vice President, Nevada State Development Corporation, was awarded the Certified Commercial Investment Member (CCIM) designation by the CCIM Institute, one of the leading commercial real estate associations in the world. The designation was awarded in late August following examinations held in Chicago.

Bill Wilson was among the 199 commercial real estate professionals from across the nation who earned the designation by passing the Institute's Comprehensive Examination, the final component in the designation process. More than 15,000 commercial real estate professionals from the United States, Canada, Mexico, Asia and Europe have earned the CCIM designation since the program was founded in 1969.

 

Nevada State Development Corporation (NSDC) announced the funding of their first SBA 504 commercial real estate loan in Southern Nevada under the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA), which was signed into law by President Obama on February 17, 2009.

The American Recovery and Reinvestment Act, in an effort to encourage small business borrowing and stimulate the economy, provided beneficial changes to the SBA 504 loan program. This reduction in origination fees, along with the current SBA Debenture rate of 5.24% fixed for 20 years, provide excellent assistance to small businesses looking to acquire their own business real estate.

 

Plumas Bank and the Nevada State Development Corporation (NSDC) recently announced the funding of a commercial real estate loan on April 15, 2009. This is first SBA 504 commercial real estate loan in Northern Nevada to take advantage of the new U.S. Stimulus Package under the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act. The new U.S. Stimulus Package, in an effort to encourage small business borrowing and stimulate the economy, provided beneficial changes to the SBA 504 loan program. The new changes to the SBA 504 loan program reduce the borrower's origination fees by nearly 2% of the loan amount. This reduction in origination fees along with the current SBA Debenture rate of 5.20% fixed for 20 years, provide excellent assistance to small businesses looking to acquire their own business real estate.
